His diverse works portray subjects from a range of social classes, in varying emotional states, with unwavering perspicacity. He has, however, remained an enigmatic figure, largely overlooked by scholars until the start of this  › Biography › Film, Television & Music › Music.

Georges de La Tour was born on Ma in the town of Vic-upon-Seille, in Lorraine. His baptism document indicates that he was the son of Jean de La Tour, baker, and Sybille de La Tour, née Molian (or Malian).
